I made these photos of my neighbor Riley when we were both 14. We’d walk home from the bus together most every day, and then sit in my room until it was dark out: we played games on our computers, watched Jennifer’s Body over and over, and came up with ideas for new pictures. Freshmen year of high school was depressing and difficult. It was this year of my life that I think I began to understand that making pictures meant I could invent my own reality and then live inside of it.
Feeling grateful today for my life-long relationship with photography <3 All the love to my girl Riley and our special collaboration, I think of these photos and memories so frequently.

So nostalgic awesome:)
